We have replaced the Rain Shield Protector and the intermittent issue when raining has been resolved

The Rain Protector Shield received was the incorrect spec and not compatible with our dish - we await feedback on delivery of the correct model from our supplier

We have found the issue to be a faulty component that will need to be replaced this week

The issue has been resolved and connectivity and speeds are back to normal

Octotel has tested and confirmed that full connectivity to the Ruyterwacht Node has been restored. The Cape Gate Node has been diverted back to the primary route and no services are at risk. Should you not yet have connectivity, kindly restart your equipment by unplugging it from power at the wall socket for 3 minutes

Connectivity to the Ruyterwacht Node has been restored however services are at risk while technicians complete final testing which could result in intermittent or degraded performance until a final and full restore has been verified Should you not yet have connectivity, kindly restart your equipment by unplugging ti from power at the wall socket for 3 minutes

Capegate Node: The Cape Gate Node has been diverted to a backup route until restoration has been completed on the primary path. Ruyterwacht Node: The Ruyterwacht Node remains offline due to extensive fibre damage. Majority of the Node repair have been completed and are still currently in process. Octotel Estimate and 4 Hours before repairs are complete.

The Capegate Node: The Cape Gate Node has been diverted to a backup route until restoration has been completed on the primary path. Ruyterwacht Node: Ruyterwacht Node remains offline due to extensive fibre damage. Due to the extent of the break, Octotel expects the link to only be restored within 6-8 hours.

Services have been fully restored Should you currently still not have connectivity, kindly restart you equipment by unplugging both your router and POE brick from power at the wall sockets for 3 minutes

A generator will be installed this morning to provide power until Municipal Power has been restored. Internet Connectivity is expected to to resume around 12h00. Municipal Update: "Update : _Unplanned outage affecting areas of Elsies River, Uitsig, Bishop Lavis, Cravenby and surrounding suburbs Sunday, 26 February 2023:_ Eskom has managed to restore supply to some affected customers, although a number of customers remain without supply. Due to the vast extend of the vandalism that occurred at the Eureka Substation, additional resources are required. No estimated restoration time is available yet."

We have unfortunately not received any further feedback on resolution on the restoration of Municipal power. An alternate power supply arrangement will be made tomorrow morning

Issue resolved and connectivity back to normal

We have found the issue to be a faulty router. The router was replaced and connectivity has been restored fully. Should you still not have connectivity ‎kindly restart your equipment by unplugging both the router and white POE brick power plugs from the wall socket Leave unplugged for 3 mins then plug back into the wall socket and power up

Damaged cable was replaced. Connectivity has been restored

The incident has been resolved
